ABOUT THANDA ZULU:

Thanda Zulu combines original design with social responsibility. Its works of art are hand made by previously unemployed women in an income-generation project in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Long known for their skills amongst the Zulu and Xhosa clans, many of the beaders come from well known, traditional beading families. Most of the pieces we offer are modern versions of traditional jewelry, where each color and shape contains a specific meaning. Thanda Zulu donates all of its profits to the Thanda After-School Project, a non-profit organization in KwaZulu-Natal that empowers orphans of AIDS and other vulnerable children to break the cycles of poverty and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in their community.
